Did you finish this? How was it? I have it in my Amazon Wish List and I'm thinking of buying it. I was surprised to see an Eve Dallas book without "In Death" in the title.

Just started "Shantaram" by Gregory David Roberts. I just had read only 20 pages, but I have to say...

I just finished reading "The Glass Rainbow" by James Lee Burke, and am currently finishing up "The Horror Stories of Robert E. Howard"
Has anyone here ever read the "Emperor" series about Julius Cesaer? I'm a big fan of Jack Whyte's Camulod series and wondered if this might be similar.
Oh, and now that the tenth book has been published, I'm rereading Steven Erickson's Malazan series.

Haven't even heard of it. But if it gets this kind of a reaction out of Kenji I must find out more about it.

The Emperor series by Conn Iggulden is brilliant in my opinion. As is his series on Genghis Khan. I would strongly recommend both of them.

Although I wouldn't go so far as to compare them to the Whyte Arthurian series. I enjoyed Iggulden's books much much more.

I can't compare as I haven't read Jack Whyte, but the Emperor series was pretty enjoyable. I'd recommend it.

I've greatly enjoyed Stephen Hunter's sniper novels featuring Bob Lee Swagger. Imagine my joy in hearing about his latest, to be released in December, "Soft Target". It features Swagger's heir apparent Ray Cruz getting caught in the middle of a terrorist hostage crisis at the Mall of America right here in suburban Minneapolis. I'm pretty stoked.

Yeah, I highly recommend this. A lot of readers gave 5 stars to this. Me too.
