I read several stories today about a dispute between Amazon and Macmillian over eBook prices. Apparently this has led to all Macmillan books being removed from Amazon. I believe Macmillan owns Tor, and when I did a search a few minutes ago all the Tor editions of FPW's books no longer are available from Amazon. Strewth! as the Brits would say.

It still shows up on my Order page, and if you search for it by title, it shows up with the option to be emailed when it is available, but it's no longer available for pre-order. I guess I'll find out Tuesday whether or not Amazon is shipping orders already placed.

You and me both. Let's hope we don't feel the sting of disappointment.

Supposedly this has been resolved, but Secret Circles is still "unavailable" at Amazon for now.

Well, I just got the email notification from Amazon that Secret Circles has been shipped to me, so I guess I'll get to read it this week after all. Smile

This was a very fractous issue over the weekend, with numerous writers blogs going absolutley nuts in terms of traffic and commentary - last time I checked in on the discussion on John Scalzi's bolg, there were 150+ posts to one of the threads. Amazon appears to have backed down, and they have gotten a lot of crap for that on the Amazon boards, mostly by people who think that they havge some sort of entitlement to uber-uber-cheap digital books. There are no winners in this, I fear....
