Merry Christmas to me: this weighty box arrove with a return address of "Criterion." Inside is the "AK 100" collection - 25 Kurasawa films in a beautiful red linen-bound box. But no clue as to why I received it or from whom besides "Criterion" (who packages the set). But to whomever and whatever: THANK YOU!

I've seen only the classic, iconic Kurasawas. "Red Beard" has already been recommended. Any other standouts?

25 films? Holy cow!

I've only seen Seven Samurai. It's terrific. I want to see Yojimbo.

What a neat gift! Someone knows your wishes and taste. Maybe Santa gave you a gift early? lol

25 Kurosawa!?!? Wow! That's nice!

My favorites are Seven Samurai, Yojimbo, Rashomon, and Kumonosu-jou.

Also, Dersu Uzala was good.

In addition to his classics, I enjoyed Dersu Uzala.

Well, for years I was smart.
I recommend pleasant.
