Welcome, noturbizniss. You'll like it here.

Second: if memory serves from past questions of this type, the only changes in those 2, new editions are corrections of typos.

They are being re-published, mainly due to the fact that they have been out of print for a while (except for the collectors editions from Bordelands Press, of course).

many thanks Wapitkev!!

So despite being the 4th book in the adversary cycle, I should read Reborn after The Keep, and before The Touch, et all?
It won't be like star wars, where you really need to see 4-6 to understand many of the concepts and ideas in 1-3 will it?

SPOILERS

Reborn should be read immediately after The Keep and before Conspiracies...it is the re-origin of a major character in The Keep and Conspiracies.

Reborn overlaps with the Touch only peripherally (they share a setting, Monroe, but not much else). They are both meant to be read before Reprisal because they both lead (separately) into it.

The main reason to read Reborn before the Touch is that Reborn takes place in 1968, while the Touch takes place in the present day.

Axioms Jack seems to live by (inadvertantly or not):

Why he does what he does: "I chose this life. I know what I'm doing. And on any given day, I could stop doing it. Today, however, isn't that day. And tomorrow won't be either." Bruce Wayne, Identity Crisis

On Rasalom: "Water's wet, the sky is blue...and good old Satan Claus, Jimmy...he's out there...and he's just gettin' stronger." Joe Hallenbeck, The Last Boyscout

Many thanks. I have read all the Jack novels to date (read them between March and June of 2008, then By the Sword in September). I just finished Black Wind ( I know...should've read it before By The Sword), and started By the Sword again and realized I had forgotten some small details!
This obviously calls for a complete reboot and refresher, so I just started The Keep (first time) and want to do it right this time!

Just follow Paul's Secret History of the World and you'll get them all in chronological (emphasis on "logical") order.

AND don't forget the short-story that pre-dates The Keep (by an Epoch)...Demonsong (available for free click here).

I wasn't on this forum when I started working my way through the RJ series, so I got my list of what to read in what order from wikipedia ... a good alternate source of what comes before what.

Not quite.

SPOILERS! Sorta

I'll just deal with THE TOUCH:

The time line had been changed -- it has been "moved up" a generation.

In the original, Sylvia Nash's husband was a Vietnam Veteran and Ba was his friend.

In the updated version, Sylvia's father-in-law was the Vietnam vet, and Ba was his friend. Sylvia's husband was a Gulf War veteran.
