I like going to the bookstores. I typically end up talking to other customers and selling them on the Jack series. Its amazing how many people go to the store with no specific plan on what to buy....perfect Jack converts.

Good for you, beowulf!~ And yeah, it's true readers often go to a bookstore without a specific book in mind. I've turned a coupla folks onto Jack meself, at B&N Lincoln Triangle.

Though my usual rap, "You WILL buy a Paul Wilson book or I WILL fuck you up beyond repair!" might need a little moderation...

Mike, there's always someone tougher. Good luck.

Axioms Jack seems to live by (inadvertantly or not):

Why he does what he does: "I chose this life. I know what I'm doing. And on any given day, I could stop doing it. Today, however, isn't that day. And tomorrow won't be either." Bruce Wayne, Identity Crisis

On Rasalom: "Water's wet, the sky is blue...and good old Satan Claus, Jimmy...he's out there...and he's just gettin' stronger." Joe Hallenbeck, The Last Boyscout

Tell me about it, Wap. I gave that rap to a little old lady last Thursday. It took 3 security guards to get her toy poodle off my throat.

I gotta go to Borders for it where I live. I was SO DAMN DISGUSTED!! I went to the B&N near my house looking for Repairman Jack and Adversary Cycle books. I walked around the store for hours searching. I had managers looking. I said to the manager "You have not one F. Paul Wilson novel? What the hell kind of a book store is this?" and he replied "I don't know. I'm sorry."
"Sorry?" I said. "You'll be sorry when Jack comes to Snellville, Ga you bastard."

Not all of that is true but its what I shoulda done. Anywho, I found 1 FPW novel there. At the time, I was not into Vampire books but the hardcover Midnight Mass that was in the discount bin, I still choke down bile to this day thinking FPW was laying pissed off in the discount bin.

Read it, loved it and never went back to that B&N.

My point, don't usually have one but I will be buying Ground Zero the day it comes out and preaching the word. Good luck FPW I know you'll be a bestseller yet again.

I've gained many new readers from bargain bins and discount shelves.
