I was at the book store looking for a horror book because I love scary movies. I was looking in that section and looking at Stephen King books. I knew I did not want a King book and around his books I picked up The Tomb. King was quoted on how he liked The Tomb, so I got it. I flew through the book and I was hooked on the Repairman Jack series. Finally, the last couple of books Wilson put out the Secret History of the World, so now I am starting the Adversary Cycle while I wait for the last RJ book!!!
Welcome to the board!!! :hello:Yes, the RJ series is ridiculously adictive. There are also many other amazing FPW books, including Black Wind and Deep as the Marrow which I suggest very highly.

You'd think that Killing people would make them like you, but it doesn't! it just makes people dead.

I was walking through the local bookstore a number of years ago looking for something interesting to read. Picking up random books here and there reading the backs to see if any of them piqued my interest. Some did some didn't. The ones that did i kept in mind for purchase later. And then i picked up "The Keep". I figured ahhh what the hell. I'll give this guy Wilson a shot and put it in the to buy pile.

So I get home and start reading "The Keep". I finish a couple of hours later. Then i'm back at the bookstore picking up "The Tomb" and any other FPW book that they had. All the while thinking to myself how the hell did i not know about this guy. Been hooked ever since.

So the short answer is The Keep.

I liked BLACK WIND the best. Can't ever tell what Paul will come up with, but that's the one that will be hard to beat.

I started reading Wilson's novels at the end of May this year. Started with The Tomb and I have read every RJ novel (excluding the young adult novels) published up to this point. I finished Fatal Error in less than 24 hours, I felt like a brain. Wilson is one of those authors that if you like one book you'll probably like them all. Good evening.

I picked up Gateways in 2006 and haven't been able to stop reading anything with Wilson's name on it
