Volcano? We know the Island has a volcano and it's been active. We saw that in Season 3 in Ben's flashback to his school room experience, which I mentioned in an earlier post.

I recommend pleasant.

ah that's right. I forgot about the volcano.

I admit I didn't read through all the posts since I was so far behind due to being on leave and not watching it at all while on leave. So I missed your post in regards to that matter. Sorry 'bout that. Smile

Thinking about the statue, something occurred to me today. If the island has now stopped moving in time, then all of the mysteries of the island surely aren't going to be addressed. Yes, we've finally seen the whole of the four toed statue, but only fleetingly. I wonder if the writers are paving the way for Lost spin-off shows after the main show has finished next season? While they wouldn't get the huge audiences that Lost does, given the success of Lost, spin-off shows that explore such mysteries would almost certainly be something that would be of interest to many.
It wouldn't be great to just get a basic explanation in lieu of a more thorough one in future spin-off seasons, but I do suspect the creators are thinking ahead to what they'll do post Lost.

You nailed this one Maggers.

And Ben replied "My mother taught me."

Probably just Ben being a smartass, but I was immediately like Ben's mother died...wtf, Ben?

I thought the same thing. Does it fit that maybe Ben's father brought his dead wife's ashes to the island. The island being what it is, brought back Ben's mother in the flesh. Maybe I'm just too tired, but we've seen crazier things.

I believe the writers have aleady stated that they will not answer every little question about LOST in detail. Some things will just be left of to the viewer to decide, as it should be. We shouldn't need everything answered for us, in my opinion. That's why we have brains, so we can think for ourselves and develop our own conculsions.

The writers have stated that they will not readdress the Hatch or the numbers.

The writers stated they will answer the mystery of the smoke monster in the very last episode of Season 6. (Even though we pretty much know its a security system for the Temple)

However, the writers have fibbed in the past. They did say that there would be no time travel on LOST.......

I just read today on lost.com that in a few weeks is a 4 episode arc revolving around young ben in which he learns a lot about the islands history and past and I believe we will to. Looking forward to these episodes a lot. One of the hints was that Ben learns a lot from some people that arent Dharma and who arent the others. hmmm.... who else is there?

"Sanity? Worthless things like that, I never had them for as long as I can remember!"

So... Since we first met Ben he's known exactly what happens because he was told as a kid? Is that why he's always calm and collected? As I think about it, the only thing that he really seemed to be surprised about was Alex dying and you wouldn't tell someone that they're gonna watch their child die.

Here is what was said at Lost.com for everybody. I think I took it wrong and mixed the first part with the second. But it does mention people that aren't the others or dharma. So I think it probably is the losties in the past that help him as a kid. Which makes me think more about that plane crash where he didnt seem surprised but more ready then anything.

LOST fans will be in for quite a treat on March 18 with the airing of the episode entitled 'Namaste.' Sterling Beaumon will reprise his role as 'young Ben Linus' and the episode will actually be the first of a 4 episode character arc that begins with Ben Linus, the sweet little boy. Then something very bad happens and Ben will be affected by a group of people who incredibly are not the Others or Dharma, yet we have seen them! In a TV Guide interview, Sterling mysteriously says that there is one safe place on the island but it isn't Jacob's cabin and it isn't the Hatch.

If that isn't enough, there's more! According to Watch with Kristin, Sterling says that Ben will [come to] know everything about every little bit about the Island. We're not going to learn more about the past with Dharma, we're going to learn more about the past of the Island.
