Abe's raised eyebrows caused furrows in his extended forehead. "Five in twelve hours?"
"Oh, and like you've never had a cranky day?"

This story is the one I use to get people interested in the Otherness Saga. I'd love to here more about Rasalom's rise as a dark wizard, his murder of The Seven, and his servitude to the Otherness. I think the character, being so evil, is perfect at being exposed more with another book. While I normally hate when a character is exposed too much, I feel he deserves a better fleshing out of his early past. Glaeken, and even Jack, would be served so better if we knew WHAT Rasalom was before he became what he is.

The seven were a cabaal of dark wizards in the first age that had some kind of otherness association...Ras became the one by destroying them. He may or may not have been one of them, at some point.

The modern day equivalent is the Septimus Order's council...except today, in this age, magic is far less prevalent/powerful...and Rasalom is still the one.

Axioms Jack seems to live by (inadvertantly or not):

Why he does what he does: "I chose this life. I know what I'm doing. And on any given day, I could stop doing it. Today, however, isn't that day. And tomorrow won't be either." Bruce Wayne, Identity Crisis

On Rasalom: "Water's wet, the sky is blue...and good old Satan Claus, Jimmy...he's out there...and he's just gettin' stronger." Joe Hallenbeck, The Last Boyscout

My compendium is unfinished...heh.

I need to re-read By The Sword, some is in there when Glaeken talks to Jack about the first age. The rest has been revealed here and there on the board, on various, diverse threads, over the last few years.
