He doesn't have countless films behind him to compare this role to. The only comparison really, will be to Star Trek, which I can live with. Unlike others. Look at Edward Norton. You now have to compare Jack with Figh Club, the Italian Job, Death to Smoochie, and any other thing he's done. Chris Pine is a virtual slate. He's done like 3 mainstrem movies.
Nope, but you also don't look like you're running Relativity.
I can live with all the movies you mentioned for Ed...since the good ones are great and the bad ones, no one remembers anyway.
I don't think Chris Pine would be terrible, I just don't think he would be great...and Jack needs to be...and Relativity wants him to be.

Axioms Jack seems to live by (inadvertantly or not):
Why he does what he does: "I chose this life. I know what I'm doing. And on any given day, I could stop doing it. Today, however, isn't that day. And tomorrow won't be either." Bruce Wayne, Identity Crisis
On Rasalom: "Water's wet, the sky is blue...and good old Satan Claus, Jimmy...he's out there...and he's just gettin' stronger." Joe Hallenbeck, The Last Boyscout
