I think Michael C. Hall would be awesome as Jack. But I'm sure Ryan Reynolds will do a good job.

Oh, and by the way:
I don't know who this kid is, but try and tell me she shouldn't play Vicky.

Heh.

Axioms Jack seems to live by (inadvertantly or not):

Why he does what he does: "I chose this life. I know what I'm doing. And on any given day, I could stop doing it. Today, however, isn't that day. And tomorrow won't be either." Bruce Wayne, Identity Crisis

On Rasalom: "Water's wet, the sky is blue...and good old Satan Claus, Jimmy...he's out there...and he's just gettin' stronger." Joe Hallenbeck, The Last Boyscout

MCH does absolutely nothing for me.

Plus he's already associated with another counter culture personality...he brings too much baggage to Jack.

And, at 38, he's got an age problem if he wants to play Jack in sequels...say filming starts in 2 years and there are 5 sequels in the next 10 years thereafter (ambitious but it could happen) that would mean he'd be 50 playing a 38 year old.

Someone in their early 30s would be a better choice.

Tough to tell from that short clip. What's her name? I can't find information on that commercial anywhere, not even Conagra's website.

See more Sam Worthington pics and news in this thread: (Click here)

Just follow that thread for a few posts to see his connection with director James Cameron.

I think he's still got a slouchy eye problem, lol.

But then again that's not necessarily a bad thing, it's very average of him to have an eye problem, isn't it?

A post on the Movie Game thread hit me like a thunderbolt!

If Robbie Coltrane is too old for Abe when filming starts, Philip Seymour Hoffman would be perfect!

His character in Charlie Wilson's war (only with a Jewish accent) is almost exactly how I picture Abe.

Persephone:

I am warming to your suggestion of Jacob Vargas for Julio.

Here's why.

He may not look menacing, like Amauri Nolasco or Danny Trejo, but I just re-read the beginning of The Tomb and was surprised to re-read that Julio is short!

Now, if Jack who is approximately 5'10" considers Julio short, then Neither Nolasco nor Trejo could be Julio.

BUT Vargas is only 5' 6.5 inches tall! I'm sure there's other shorter Spanish actors around, but Cheech Marin (5' 6") is 63 years old and Luiz Guzman (5' 7") is 56, while Vargas is only 45.

Plus, unlike Cheech and Luiz, he's not a commedian...and I'd like my Julio on the serious side.

Ok, just started my re-read of The Tomb (the Tor "Author's Difinitive Edition") and I'm refreshing my horrible memory yet again...Abe's physical appearance is first described as: "A balding overweight man in his mid-fifties..."

Robbie Coltrane is 59 this year and so would be an excellent choice.

However, assuming that filming starts in 2011, and as the sequels pile up, 12 years from now, at 71, I defy anyone, even Robbie Coltrane, to pass for 58.

Philip Seymore Hoffman is about to turn 42...and every year that filming doesn't start he gets another year closer to Abe's age.

If you've seen his character in Charlie Wilson's War, then you know that he plays an excellent crank...he'd be a great candidate for Abe in the last few movies in the series (12-15 years from now).
