I have not seen these mentioned here, yet:

The Upside of Anger
Must Love Dogs
Spanglish
PS I Love You
Someone Like You
Just Like Heaven
The Wedding Date

In order of best-ness.

Wow, I guess I really don't like modern romantic comedies. A lot of the titles mentioned in this thread I've never even heard of, let alone seen. In the extremely rare event that I do see one, it is usually so lame that it just serves to confirm how much I hate the genre overall.

Hey, I'm plenty sentimental, it's just that these movies don't usually try very hard to do anything different or new. You've seen one, you've seen them all, or close to it. Boooooring. Confusedleep:

A rare exception was 50 First Dates. It was not the same, tired old storyline and the ending was really touching. I actually enjoyed that one quite a bit.

Scott Miller Wrote:What about the best romantic comedy of all time? Off the top of my head I say WHEN HARRY MET SALLY.

Meh. When Harry Met Sally is ok. But the best romantic comedy of all time is obviously The Princess Bride. :p

And The Princess Bride gets the big MEH from me; never understood its popularity.

Who ARE you?!! What have you done with Scott?!?:dontknow:

The most merciful thing in the world, I think, is the inability of the human mind to correlate all its contents. ... The piecing together of dissociated knowledge will open up such terrifying vistas of reality, and of our frightful position therein, that we shall either go mad from the revelation or flee from the light into the peace and safety of a new dark age.

Don't get me wrong, I enjoyed it but it seems many consider it a classic which I certainly don't. Different strokes...

I agree with Webby. I get most of the titles mentioned here all mixed up because the titles all sound alike to me, I haven't seen most of them, and that's because I've no interest in these very mediocre, unremarkable, generally unfunny movies.

Some mentioned, however, I do like.
Love Actually
Lost in Translation
Last Holiday

There may be more.

Why are we only looking at the last 8 years. This century has not brought much in the way of great romantic movies.

I recommend pleasant.
