I'm still doing the stay at home dad thing for the baby and its driving me absolutely bat-shit crazy. I have read and RE-read every damned book in my library.

As Im on this forum I do not need to say that I am a horror or thriller fan. But i am also a comedy fan.

Please tell me somebody on here has something I havent read. I can spend hours in a bookstore and I either find nothing worth even reading in the store, or I find good stuff... but i have read it al already.

Comedy: Read Chistopher Moore if you haven't.
Parents from Hell by Judith Newman, stories of good intentions gone wrong...
Pest Control Dill Fitzhugh

Thriller: Tropic of Night and Valley of Bones by Michael Grubber
Tarry Prachett...

Comedic twisted thriller: The beasts of Valhalla by George Chesbro

Don't know too much abotu the Thrillers/and Pest control. They are from my mom.

I am currently reading The Princess Bride abridged by William Goldman.

It is very funny and very exciting, so should fit you like a glove. Even if you have seen the movie there is a lot of good things about this book. A lot of stuff not in the movie, and even the familiar stuff is better.

:yesnod:

I accidentally dropped a load of worthless change in the street. I was going to just leave it there but a burly policeman lumbered towards me and said, "You'd better pick that up, son."

I hate coppers.

If you read science fiction, try some of the novels by Jack McDevitt, especially his series: "A Talent for War", "Polaris", and "Seeker". Each story is independent, but have the same characters. Basically, Indiana Jones 10,000 years in the future.

The Preston and Child Pendergast books ("Relic",...) are more along the lines of horror.

You really only need three things: WD-40, Duct Tape, and a pointy stick. If it's supposed to move and doesn't, use the WD-40. If it moves and isn't supposed to, use the Duct Tape. If you want it to move and it doesn't want to, use the pointy stick. The rest of life is easy.

"Blasphemy" by Douglas Preston!

Cthulhu for President!

Why vote for a lesser evil? I can think of none better than the great old one, who should return from his slumber to take over the U.S. government and make this country a whole hell of a lot better as the leader of our executive branch. Or destroy it and drive everyone insane, kill us all, or something really nasty! Remember, Cthulhu for President, why vote for the lesser of two evils? Wink

Chris Moore is one of my favs altho hes taking WAY too long doing anything new.

Preston and Child are up there on my fav 3 list ( with FPW at the top. Not brown nosin. Theres just nothing better.) Altho blasphemy let me down BIG TIME. Its like their stuff has been coming from the same mold these days.

And well, I've read most everything else mentioned...Sad
