They might...but since there are no copyright issues, they shouldn't have to.

It might even be kinda funny for Jack to make some backhanded comment about feeling like he's in some damn James Cameron movie...something like "Unfortunately, taking off and nuking the ship from orbit isn't an option."

Axioms Jack seems to live by (inadvertantly or not):

Why he does what he does: "I chose this life. I know what I'm doing. And on any given day, I could stop doing it. Today, however, isn't that day. And tomorrow won't be either." Bruce Wayne, Identity Crisis

On Rasalom: "Water's wet, the sky is blue...and good old Satan Claus, Jimmy...he's out there...and he's just gettin' stronger." Joe Hallenbeck, The Last Boyscout

That would be really funny. One thing, though, Alien is a really well known movie, I mean, the people in my class have actually heard of it.Big Grin They might be afraid that the public will not like it, "I didn't like that movie, I mean, the ending was so similar to Alein! I will tell every one I know not to see that movie."

"Lord, what fools these mortals be"

"The opposite of war isn't peace; it's creation."

You'd think that Killing people would make them like you, but it doesn't! it just makes people dead.

Let's be realistic, all the heavy love scenes with Kolobati will have the under 40 men showing up in droves, whether they think the end copies Aliens or not. Wink

Seriously though...I can't imagine FPW saying that he was "...happy with the script" (in his Movie-blog) if they eviscerated the ending.

If we are going to see any tampering, my bet is that it will occur at the end of the filming with them shooting multiple endings to "audience test." That's where the real fate of the movie could be decided.

Sorry. I've been lurking on fark.com for too long.

When someone quotes you and just says "This" it means they agree with you.

It comes from the Douglas Adams book So Long and Thanks for All the Fish. There's a scene where Arthur is riding in Fenchurch's brother's Saab with Fenchurch and her brother. She's in the backseat asleep. Her brother, (Russel if I'm not mistaken), is telling Arthur that she's crazy and thinks she's a hedgehog. He goes on to say that if someone thinks they're a hedgehog, presumably you give them a mirror and a picture of a hedgehog, and let them sort it out for themselves. At roughly this point, Fenchurch shoots up, wide awake, and says "This." Then she falls back asleep.

Yeah, a long explanation. It probably would have been quicker if I had just said, "I agree with this statement," instead of "This." Ah well. Que sera sera, yes?

Thanx WikiLight...it seems I have forgotten that part of SLATFATF.

I recommend pleasant.

I think that if/when (I reckon if) they ever get round to making the RJ movie, they'll change the ending. I don't think they'll do it becasue of any similarity to Aliens, but to make it more cinematic. I doubt RJ will stroll around flamethrowering Rakoshi, that worked well in a novel but would be a bit dul to watch. More fighting and running about, methinks.

I accidentally dropped a load of worthless change in the street. I was going to just leave it there but a burly policeman lumbered towards me and said, "You'd better pick that up, son."
