I got my copy today! It is beautiful in the slipcase. My only regret is that I will have to wait a bit to buy a copy TO READ! I'll have to wait to read it! Ugh.

Come on. Books are for reading. I've already read mine and lent it out.

I started a thread. It's on the main page somewhere.

"I handed in the new RJ novel with the
working title, BY THE SWORD. David says the sales force loved the title at the
pre Turkey-Day sales meeting, so that's what it will be. That means Paul Ramplin
gets a credit line in the acknowledgments.

I remember that tune by the Bee Gees! Before they went disco!

Oh I couldn't see, that the thread was by me!" Big Grin

But seriously, when I read that it made me think of that song.

I know that books are meant to be read and normally I would already be doing that. BUT I specifically bought this one to keep it as fresh as new still sealed. Normally I don't do this with books but it seemed prudent this time. I can wait a bit to read it

It's your book, so what you do with it is completely up to you. If it was mine, I'd just wash my hands, (I do that anyway) remove the dust jacket, and read it. As FPW said; eye tracks will not decrease the value of a book.

Must be my 'inner Bee Gee' coming out!

When I receive a book I immediately put a Mylar cover on the dust jacket. My book then goes everywhere with me until I am through reading it. Then it goes everywhere with my wife until she’s through with it. By the time it gets to the bookshelf the Mylar has fingerprints and scratches but the dust jacket and book is still pristine. Mylar even has UV protection so my books are safe even on the bookshelf. I buy my Mylar by the roll here: http://www.shopbrodart.com/site_pages/bjc/
