Sorry, didn't mean to call you a goof.Wink Send Gauntlet an e-mail and ask them for a free copy. You deserve one for helping the bids reach the stratosphere. They'll put up another one for auction soon.

That's a good question. Smile There seems to be a huge market for the prerelease of limited editions. If I was writing them I'd be getting a taste Fo' Sho'.

The problem with paying so much for an ARC is that they don't hold their value. After the mass market release the book will be worth about twenty bucks. Even if the winning bidder reads it quickly and relists it on Ebay he'll never get that much again.

Just kidding, Biggles. I wouldn't know how to bid even if I wanted to.

I know Barry belongs to this board. Do you think he'll send me a free one? For that matter, why can't I be on the list to receive free ARCs on all of Paul's books, to write reviews? What a great idea Mike! Rolleyes

See I told you guys. I know things! Practically freaking Psychic. What's more, nobody in their right mind would take on Biggles. They know he's willing to go the extra mile on this one. If it was me I would have waited for ten seconds left in the auction and then swooped in and bid.

You won't have a problem with Gauntlet but I wouldn't want to give an unknown seller the opportunity to have a buddy of his bid up to my known ceiling.
