I have to admit that I was a bit disappointed with the last episode. I think there was too much time spent on Michael's flashback and not enough Island events.
I guess the reason I was expecting more was because I was thinking of it as a finale - but, of course, it wasn't.
Anyway, it was still good enough - an average Lost episode is still way better than an exciting episode by any other TV show's standards.
What was with Sayid though? Him dropping Michael in it with the captain is not the Sayid behaviour we're used to. Their has to be an ulterior motive there.
Who shot Karl and Danielle and are they dead? Karl - definitely dead. Danielle - not a chance. There's still too much to learn about her. And while I'm on the subject, I don't buy for a second most of what she says. She says she's been on the island for sixteen years but has never discovered any of what the Losties have discovered in a mere few months. Yeah, right. There's a story to tell there and I bet there'll be a lot of Otherness (!) involved.
As to who shot them, my guess is some of Ben's cohorts. I know there was foreshadowing on the freighter of those guys shooting clay pigeons, but I bet that was just to lead us in the wrong direction. My guess is that Karl was shot for real and Danielle was shot with one of those 'Put-You-To-Sleep' darts that got Jack, Kate, Sawyer and Hurley at the end of Season 2.
Anyway, enough rambling for now!
"I handed in the new RJ novel with the
working title, BY THE SWORD. David says the sales force loved the title at the
pre Turkey-Day sales meeting, so that's what it will be. That means Paul Ramplin
gets a credit line in the acknowledgments."
