Abe's raised eyebrows caused furrows in his extended forehead. "Five in twelve hours?"
"Oh, and like you've never had a cranky day?"

I like the "Clay and Water" title the most because those
elements are so important to the traditional manufacture
of a Samurai Sword:

"It was then hammered into the right shape and was ready
for the final step. This is where the swordsmith would
cover the top half of the blade with a layer of adhesive
material, which usually consisted of clay. The blade was
then heated to a temperature that made the blade glow to
the smith's liking, and then a prayer was said and the
blade was plunged into water. The exposed edge cooled
instantly while the rest of the blade, protected by the
clay, cooled slowly and remained comparatively soft.
The final result was a sword blade of a soft non-brittle
metal that shows on the bottom a thin line that was to be
sharpened to become the actual blade."

I accidentally dropped a load of worthless change in the street. I was going to just leave it there but a burly policeman lumbered towards me and said, "You'd better pick that up, son."

I hate coppers.

Temperances.

They passed an old woman who was just opening the door of a brown Cadillac. An old man was already sitting in the passenger seat. The car had a personalized plate with the letters “J-U-S-P-R-A-Y”.
“That stuff work?” Israel said to her.
“‘Scuse me?” the little old woman said, clutching her keys.
“The spray. Does it keep them away?”
“Keep who away?” She looked confused.
“I gotcha.” Israel gave her a conspiratorial wink.
