Ahhh, well, even if that ain't the case, it makes sense. Okay: I'll wait. Thanks!

I believe that is true, also. Is that not OK?

The most merciful thing in the world, I think, is the inability of the human mind to correlate all its contents. ... The piecing together of dissociated knowledge will open up such terrifying vistas of reality, and of our frightful position therein, that we shall either go mad from the revelation or flee from the light into the peace and safety of a new dark age.

I hope it's ok - I ordered mine last night. Is Gauntlet doing inscribed copies? That was the main reason I went ahead and ordered from Shocklines. Because I wanted the inscription. [Image: Huh_anim.gif]

BTW - Jimbow, what is your new avatar a pic of? Is that from a GU?

You can't see it as well as I'd hoped. It's me and the fambly in the Florida Keys for Christmas '03. We all have on swim suits, white t-shirts, and Santa hats.

I think Gauntlet ones are signed - but not with a personal inscription - just a signature

What is the difference between the lettered and numbered - is the lettered leather bound?

Correct. I inscribe the Shocklines copies for those who want me to do so.[/SIZE]

John Keel used to give me a laff by inscribing his books, "To My Best Friend." If he knew you, that would be different. He inscribed my 1st edition THE MOTHMAN PROPHECIES, "For Mike Lindner Even though the concepts discussed in this book are far beyond his miniscule mentality But perhaps he'll enjoy the pictures" And I said, "But John--there are no pictures in the book." And he replied, "You really have wasted your money, Lindner."

No no no....

ALL of our copies are autographed. The books are signed even before they come from the printer. The author autographs the numbered signature pages, and then the printer "tips them" into the book when they're produced.

The ONLY difference between our copies and the copies Gauntlet offers, is that if you want, we can have your book ADDITIONALLY personally inscribed to you from the author (so it will be signed on the signature page PLUS it will have a separate personal inscription).

But our books ARE the same signed numbered limited editions that Gauntlet and everyone else has. In fact, Gauntlet's contract with Tor almost certainly prevents unsigned hardcovers from being sold at all, since that would cut into Tor's sales for its trade hardcover down the line.
