I started an online book club and my pick was The Tomb (I'll get people hooked if it's the last thing I do!Big Grin ). I've never been part of a book club before and we are still starting out. I was wondering if you all would help me with some possible discussion questions to bring to the table? The ones I have so far are:
What was your first impression of Jack, Gia, and Mr. Bahkti?
What do you think of Jack's fight violence with violence approach?

We have the book broken down in sections and are still on the first section, but any suggestions for any of the book would be greatly appreciated. This is the first book club I've been a part of. Thanks in advance!

A couple of ideas...

What do you think of Jack's "under the radar" lifestyle?
and for the very end... Would you have accepted the second necklace from Kolabati?

Stylistically- would you have wanted the entire history first, as a background, or do you like the flashback-style where we learn a little bit at a time?

That's the best I can come up with at midnight, Frogg. Hope this helps.

There's a part where Kolabati says Jack is "honorable". If it's in the first part that you're discussing, maybe you can discuss that label. Once finished with the book, knowing where Kolabati's principals stand, does the labeling change?

Do you have a little girl? Do you think she and Vicky would be friends?

Have you ever wanted/needed someone like Jack on your side?

Why isn't FPW a household name?

Most people will not know this, but the whole story stems from the confrontation Jack has with the mother Rakosh on the rooftop of his building. (I believe FPW dreamed it first)

You could also ponder the question "Was Jack destined to meet the Bahktis' and the Rakosh? What are the chances he would become involved with the Westphalns?

Another good conversation point would be... if the rakosh where made from the worst parts of humans, how did Scarlip retain ... oops, sorry, that's "All the Rage".

A good question, and one worthy of discussion... Who would have won in the hold, Kusum or Jack? I know we'll never know, but soooo many things led up to their confrontation. And how about the choice he made during their reckoning, good or bad as far as honor.
