stacyzinda123 Wrote:total evil vs not evil is a good way to look at it, considering some of Jack's methods probably wouldn't be considered "good". I loved the Tomb. It was my second FPW novel and I read it some timea go. I still love it. I enjoy the overt supernatural aspects of the books even more than the slightly more subtle ones of the later books. Also, Gia and Vicky are central to that novel and they are two of my favorite FPW characters out of all his books, which is part of why I enjoyed it so much. I missed them in the later novels. It is spelled out pretty clearly (in The Keep?) that one of the Powers is Evil and the other is pretty much ambivalent except in its opposition to the Evil Power. It has no good or righteous purpose; its sole purpose is to oppose the other.

And I kinda agree that it is a bit like the typical good vs total evil thing, which I can accept. I still like Legacies and All the Rage a bit better; more realistic is my style. But at least Kusum has a personality and we get to see his side of things, or at least some of it. And even Scarlip isn't the tired old emotionless thing without any kind of personality or loyalty.
I haven't read Nightworld, but I accidently found out Kolabati reappears there from a thread here. So I don't think I'm giving anything away besides her continued presence; I haven't read it yet either.

yeah, I know, I meant to bolster the point of it not being good vs evil. I accidently typed it wrong. Sorry for the mistake. Not all Jack's methods would be considered good, but he's not evil. although, the reader wouldn't know that Jack is part of that grand scheme if all they've read was the Keep and the Tomb.
