Paul - I bought a 1st of Virgin today and I just have to write to tell you how much the blurb on the cover made me laugh!! The dedication was similarly brilliant!! Big Grin

Was the pseudonym meant to be kept secret? Who 'outed' (or 'Bachman-ed') you?

cheers

My Japanese publisher insisted on putting it under my name. After that I simply stopped denying it.

The book is a good read too! Your first is a paperback, right? Just making sure that I'm not missing any firsts in hard cover.

First and only, although one of the small presses has asked me about doing a limited hardcover under my name.

Paul,

Japanese publisher has respect to your real name. Your almost novels were published from Fusosha, include Repairman Jack novels. Everybody knows F.Paul Wilson. Maybe, if publisher used Mary Elisabeth Murphy's name, Japanese your fans will know,"This is F.Paul Wilson!" Wink

BTW, I like this cover.

But if they print it under your name, they won't be able to include the dedication or your review of the book!

The didication will stay (with a explanatory note).

Not explanatory note. Dedication was correctly written.

[Japanese]
Honsho o otto ni sasageru.
Otto ga inakereba, honsho ga kansei surukotowa nakattadarou.

I don't know dedication by English, but meaning is...

This book dedicate for my husband.
If without my husband, this book won't finish.

Paul, I think you should have passed this by your editor before you posted it. Wink hehehe

Jimbo (Grammar Police)

The most merciful thing in the world, I think, is the inability of the human mind to correlate all its contents. ... The piecing together of dissociated knowledge will open up such terrifying vistas of reality, and of our frightful position therein, that we shall either go mad from the revelation or flee from the light into the peace and safety of a new dark age.

I just became aware of Virgin today, by accident actually. It was for sale on Ebay with other FPW books and I thought that was odd, but sure enough Virgin was written by him under a pseydonym. I called a local used book store as soon as I figured that out and they're holding a copy for me. And it's only $3.25, so even if the condition is bad, that's a deal! That's a great way to start the weekend!!
