Penn State University uses your SSN as your Student ID Number.
I remember back in the '70s, when fellow students were burning their draft cards, I
kept my draft card (I've since decided the draft violated the 13th Amendment, but I was younger then) and ceremonially
burnt my SS Card as a show of defiance against the Welfare State and Socialism. I had to get a replacement in '97 to start teaching at IU. I went through a lot of soul-searching before getting it. To me, you might as well put "666" as your SSN, because "The Beast" would love the control Government has over us. Come to think of it, maybe I'll burn my current SS Card next time I barbecue!
