Jay #1 Wrote:hmm... I've heard rumors that the game had random references to different authors scattered on signs throughout. Including an F. Paul Wilson reference...

too bad that probably couldn't carry over in the movie.

The movie had some references, but you have to pay attention throughout, which distracts from the movie; so maybe you'd better wait until you can rent the movie when it'll be more fun looking for references with the pause button. So, go see the movie, but pay attention 'cause it's alot spookier getting lost in the plot than in the town of Silent Hill.

P.S. One reference, that's all. The name of the children's school is Midwich. Get it? No? Well, find your own references then. Wink

We went and saw it last night. That was probably the best "Video game to movie" adaptation I have ever seen. You guys are right, the monsters looked exactly like the ones in the VG. It was awesome. I spent the whole movie at the edge of my seat. The ending just freaked me out too. I'd like to see it again and catch the little things I'm sure I missed. Definately would recommend seeing this one.

It definitely reminded me of some of the old scary movies. *blink* though the big slaughter scene was too anime'ish.

I believe there's a flick caled AMERICAN HAUNTING coming out soon, based on the "Bell Witch" of the 1820's, a strange tale haling from the great state of Tennessee. It's well-known and still discussed and puzzled over in parapsychology/Fortean circles.

I saw trailer in apple-movie-trailers. Is it a true story like a "Exorcism of Emily Rose"?

Even though I've never played or seen the game, I enjoyed the movie. And I would like to see it again as well. I'm sure there's a lot that I missed.

Indeed it is, Kenji. A little book was published at the time, something like A TRUE ACCOUNT OF THE BELL WITCH DEMON. Maybe the first book of its kind in America. (Well, we have to count Cotton Mather's book on witchcraft in New England too, I guess.) There's even a legend that Andrew Jackson, the victor of the Battle of New Orleans and a president of the United States, went to investigate, and said, "By the Eternal! I'd rather fight the whole British Army than face the Bell Witch again!" So what really happened? At this remote, it's hard to tell. But this old Fortean suspects there were some very bizarre happenings indeed at the Bell farm. Kind of like the world in general.

Today I went to see SILENT HILL, and it was......CREEPY!

But I enjoyed it. Those monsters and creatures freaked me out! Maggers, you shouldn't see this. I warn to you. :p The scene in basement was nightmare! This is exactly horror movie. I think this is best movie based on game (Though I've never played game). But at least, it was better than "Alone in the Dark" or "Bloodryne" or "Tomb Raider 2".

The little girl was in also Terry Gilliam's "Tideland". She will be good actress. Watch out, Dakota! Big Grin
