Stilll, the movie that I found the scariest in the last few years was "The Ghost and the Darkness," because it was a true story. "
peachynat Wrote:Jaybird and I saw "Silent Hill" last night.... I was a bit apprehensive because I wasn't really sure what to expect, but overall I'd have to say it was pretty good and I liked it....it was definitely creepy and gory, and it had some really good special effects.
I haven't seen "The Ghost and the Darkness"... may have to check into that.
jaybird Wrote:I enjoyed Silent Hill. It was as dark and gory as I remember the games being. The story line leaves you to speculate a little but overall it was a good flick. I've been to W.V. several times and I can see how folklore can be strong there.
KRW Wrote:Did it follow the game very close?Well....Because of the fact that it had to make sense for a movie, not completely. I can say though, if you played the game you could definately recognize places and people. The creatures they had were exact copies of the ones in the game. I thought it was really cool to see on the big screen what I had spent hours playing on my little screen. Overall I can't complain.

Jay #1 Wrote:hmm... I've heard rumors that the game had random references to different authors scattered on signs throughout. Including an F. Paul Wilson reference...Yes, a lot of the streets had horror authors' names. They even had Stephen King's pen name Bachman too. It was really cool. My husband has played the first 3 games. The first game was good, the second was kind of lame, but the third one was the best. the 4th one, Silent Hill The Room, looks cool but we haven't tried it. I don't play myself. I'd walk into a wall. I just watch him and point out what he misses.
too bad that probably couldn't carry over in the movie.
