Lisa Wrote:The Andromeda Strain is better than the book (sorry, Michael Crichton).
Richard Kendrick Wrote:I don't know Lisa, I think I liked them about the same amount. I was impressed that the movie had been kept so close to the book.
Lisa Wrote:It is pretty close, but there were some weird mistakes in the book, like his screwed-up explanation of binary. Also, I just thought the story worked better in a visual format. His books, especially his newer ones, are more like screenplays than novels, really. As a math guy, I'm curious what you mean by his "screwed-up explanation of binary."

Richard Kendrick Wrote:Yes, I have noticed that too. Prey and Timeline were both like that. I enjoyed them though. I expect to see Prey as movie. Did you think he left that one hanging out there for a sequel? (I know you read it)I liked Prey also, and as I was reading it I was thinking how it was written for making a movie.

Also, speaking of Crichton, I wish they would release a DVD Special Edition for The 13th Warrior with all the original footage that was cut out and changed.
Kenji Asakura Wrote:Anyway, Prey is my favorite novel. I expect make a movie.
fpw Wrote:If you look at the structure of Prey, it's a classic horror novel, and has some chilling, creepy scenes.
