I think it is great that Peter Jackson get's to remake it. He said he wanted to try to stay pretty true to it. This is the movie he was trying to make before LOTR. However, they said no to it.

I like the original quite a bit. I hope the remake brings the story to younger groups that may have missed out on the '33 version.

The new video game version looks to be real good, too. It's being done by the guy that did "Beyond Good and Evil" (a great game, if you haven't played it, do so). One option in the game is to play it in black and white like the original movie. With the grainyness and everything.

The first thing I thought about when I heard Peter Jackson was doing a Kong film was, "Terrific!! Then they'll have to release a tricked out dvd Edition the 1933 King Kong!" This is the first I've actually heard about the dvd release though. Thanks to Jackson (even if his films sucks, I don't care) for getting a big time dvd out on King Kong! Now I need The Body Snatcher and The Island of Lost Souls on dvd!!!

The trailer looks superb. A Sound of Thunder also looks interesting. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe it's based on a Ray Bradbury short story.

That's right. A Sound of Thunder is Bradbury's short story.

Btw, once "A sound of thunder" was made into short film for "The Ray Bradbury Theater". That was good too! Check this.

That looks great Kenji, I do hope they held something back for the theatres though. That trailer was basicaly King Kong in a nutshell. But then again, this is the second remake from the origanal, I guess we know Kong pretty good by now! Wink

He falls off the Empire State Building and dies. Don't be too upset though, he'll be reincarnated many more times.
