I am desparately trying to find these comic books. I have one store that is trying to find out what happened to their shipment. The Doomed is also hard to find. The search continues.

I'm just desperate to get my first installment. I've had an order with Forbidden Planet here in the UK for over a month but no sign as yet

Jaybird and IanSF --

Sorry you guys are having problems finding the first issue... but I'll hold a little mini-contest just for you guys. If you can name the first comic I ever drew, I'll send you copies myself. In fact, I'll even make it a little easier... name the first comic I ever drew for DC Comics and you've got a copy. Just send me a private message with the title and a mailing address.

And since it's cruel to have a contest for two people -- the first person who can name my real first comic will get a signed page of art from the Nightcrawler mini-series I did at Marvel. I've still got a few left. Private message the answer to me and I'll post the winner here on the boards.

A quick pointer for anyone trying to hunt out my first comic through Google -- there are TWO other Matt Smith's working in comics. One is an editor at 2000 AD and the other is some random guy who's only drawn a few things over the years (he's actually pretty good in my opinion). So discount a book called "Through The Woods" (or something like that) and anything that appears in 2000 AD.

Actually, these guys are the reason I started going by 'Matthew Smith' in professional circles. Now I've even added in my middle name to help differentiate from the 50 MILLION other guys out there with my name. Luckily I have yet to hear of another 'Matthew Dow Smith'.

I almost missed getting my copies because the store where I had my standing order didn't put my copies aside.

Both the comic stores in Sydney got Keep 1 in, with one still had copies on display about a week ago.

Flinx has correctly named the first comic I ever did. It was "Dominique: White Knuckle Drive" if anyone is interested. Congratulations to him on digging that one up. He's won a page of original art from NIGHTCRAWLER and a big tip of the hat. I tried Google-ing my name and had a pretty hard time finding a mention of my first project. And I knew what to look for.

A couple of other people have also discovered the first comic I did for DC, but that's going to stay a secret until jaybird and ianSF have a chance to win their free copies.
