Okay... there seems to be a discrepancy with the release date of Episode 3. The "official" release date is Thursday, May 19 but a lot of theaters have a showing on Wednesday, May 18 at 12:01 a.m. which insinuates that the release is May 18.

Anyone know what's going on here? Are they just doing a one-time screening a day before or are the release dates messed up?

I would think the advertising by theaters for the 18th is in error (nailed on a technicality).
Unfortunately, I don't think I'm even going to try to get near a theater that wknd. (used to love camping out for big flicks back when I lived in Boston - and was younger and more tolerant.) :-)

May 18 or May 19....It's just one day difference! We must wait it until July 9.
I just want to say "WHAT'S GOING ON HERE IN JAPAN !?"

Well, anyway, enjoy the movie! Wink

Doesn't matter to me either. We're waiting at least a week before we try to go see it. Of course we'll breeze into any other movie we want to see as long as we buy the tickets online. I think we'll go see Hitchhiker this weekend!

I believe that the May 18 at 12:01am refers to the night of May 18th. It is playing at 12:01am which makes it technically May 19th, but it is still the business day of the 18th.

I'd triple check with your theater just to be positive, though.

Are you going to see it at the midnight showing? My other friend in Chicago is going to it. I haven't figured out what I am doing, but if you two are going to the same theater I would be interested....... if you haven't bought the tickets yet.

Let me know.

The most merciful thing in the world, I think, is the inability of the human mind to correlate all its contents. ... The piecing together of dissociated knowledge will open up such terrifying vistas of reality, and of our frightful position therein, that we shall either go mad from the revelation or flee from the light into the peace and safety of a new dark age.

True it's one day difference but I'm going to be purchasing advanced tickets for myself and a few friends. Since others will be going I want to make sure everyone has the correct time down.

We're going just because we have done with the last two flicks so we're keeping up with tradition. As for the theater we're going to the one up in Skokie as it is the only digital projection in the area. It's the Crown Village 18, 7000 Carpenter Rd., Skokie, IL 60077 if you're interested.

Scratch that. Just found out it was sold out. Have to converse with my friends and figure out which theater we're going to.

You're correct, sir. Upon closer examination this is the case. Very strange considering that Star Wars has always opened on a Wed. This Thurs. stuff is throwing me off. *sigh*
