IMO the best way to read them is the order in which they were written. The cross references make the most sense that way. So I'd go ahead and read the AC first, then continue on to the RJ books.
In general, though, I agree with the others that the order is not as important as reading all of them.

This happened to my other board: he upgraded to the new version of the software; it said it had been saved, but when he went back it was copy was corrupt. He says that it could possibly be restored but it would require repairing data by hand, which would take a LONG time and a LOT of effort. We lost approx 5 years worth of data on that board, so, in a sense, consider this site lucky.

Thanks for the help, guys. I guess I'll go ahead and read the Touch next (or maybe Reborn).. I know they will all be great, though. I am also currently reading Stephen King's Dark Tower Series for the first time (I'm on The Drawing of the Three). I'm actually enjoying these books. I never knew I enjoyed Stephen King. By the way, I hope it's not considered rude or heretical to mention another writer's name and/or works on this site.....

DrJonLJ, it's not a problem at all to mention that you are reading books by authors other than FPW. We have whole threads devoted to what we are reading currently. While several folks are reading or re-reading FPW's works, everyone has multiple favorite authors or we're trying out different authors, and we talk about them all.

It is perfectly fine to mention other authors. This is actually one of the best places to come for reading recommendations because there is such a wide variety of readers' tastes here.
Let us know what you think of the Dark Tower books when you finish. There was a thread started a while back (if it still exist and you can find it - or else start a new one). Some people liked the way it ended, some didn't. I'm sure we'd all be interested in your take on it. I've read almost all of King's books. If you want info or recommendations, let me know.
