Actually, FPW admitted later he was unsure of his exact age, but that he was younger than the mid-30s Jack of the books, as seen in
post #16 of this very thread. So, don't get too hung up on his specific age.

Hmmm... Also, Paul could have realized his mistake of leaking the age and immediately replied that he was actually unsure to throw us off.

I know about Paul's post but everybody seems to be sticking with that age so I just wondered if it was actually correct. I just ran across that actor and noticed he seemed somewhat fitting. Pretty average looking guy. Paul said he was a big name but I've never heard of this guy. Then again, I haven't watched the shows he is on. Oh well, we'll never know until Paul is given the ok.

This may be selfish, but I'd rather not see Jack go to film. I like the Jack I have in my mind, and not one movie has ever held up to my imagination. To Kill a Mockingbird was the closest.

I'm not sure if he might be too old, but Chris Knight

he was the middle kid on the brady bunch. I saw him on the Surreal World on VH1 and he fits the "Blend in" factor.

How old is Lucas Black, the kid from Slingblade and American Gothic, he is very talented.

...and it might save money too. Just as Gollum/Smeagle in LOTR was computer generated, why not have an average height, average weight guy matching Jack's description create the role, with CG filling in the blanks. That way it doesn't matter how long it takes to film, how many RJ movies are made, even whether the actor portraying RJ continues in the role. The RJ character can be created exactly as it appears in Paul's mind's eye. Heck, we could do the same with Abe, Gia and Vicky.

P.S. I'm only half kidding.

Actually, this is not a bad idea. Did you see "Sky Captain and the World of Tomorrow"? Only three of the people in it were real; the rest were CG. Sure, there were some places where it was not perfect, but advances are being made every day in this area. By the time this film gets rolling the advances in CG might be good enough to pull off making Jack a CGI with a dubbed voice.

You guys obviously haven't seen Simone, which is very good, or you would realize the pitfalls of creating a CGI RJ.
