Hi folks - can you tell me price on the jacket of a 1st edition, 1st printing?
Does the book state 1st edition or is there a number string ie 10 9 8 7 6 5 4 3 2 1?
How different is it from the BCE?

Thanks Paul - I found one on ABE for $10 and thought it wise to check here - it turns out the book has $18.95 PLUS the full number string - a BARGAIN!!

There seems to be loads of BCEs of The Touch but few Putnam copies - how big a print run was there of the 1st printing?

Just remeasured. It's 8-3/8 vs 8-3/4.

It's my 2nd most collectible book. $10 is indeed a bargain. Grab it.

I don't know the numbers on the 1st print run but it was small enough that they had to go back to press twice. You've got a first edition; make sure you've got a first printing.
