Gerald Rice Wrote:Your mid-twenties actor who wants to play Repairman Jack is none other than Chris Evans. I just saw him in Cellular today. He's the right height, has a good look and is nondescript-looking enough that you forget his face after every time you see him. Here's a pic:

Now that is what I really call nondescript - looking! Big Grin He's so non-descript that he can't even been seen!

Years ago my mother used to say to me... "In this world, Elwood, you can be oh so smart or oh so pleasant."
Well, for years I was smart.
I recommend pleasant.

Ahhh...that's much better!

This makes me think of how I picture RJ as I'm reading. I don't fix on his face, probably because he is always described as nondescript. I've got a better fix on his body type, hair, blazing eyes when he is angry etc., but not necessarily the details of his face because there are none (except for the blazing blue eyes).

Sooooo, to see an actor portray RJ just might be a disappointment for me. Certainly Chris Evans fits the bill in terms of face and figure; I don't know if he can act, didn't see that movie and can't remember him in any other.

Although I've not stated this publicly, I'm almost afraid to see an RJ movie made. How can it ever match what's in my mind, created over the course of reading about the man for 20 years? Unless it's brilliantly done, and that's always a gamble, it's bound to disappoint.

Oooh, I feel like a traitor saying that. Rolleyes

Hmm, not a bad choice. I saw him in Cellular and he was pretty decent. The studio could do a lot worse. Incidentally he will be playing the human torch in the upcoming Fantastic Four film.

You could be right. They do blaze when he's angered, but whether blazing brown or blue...well, I wouldn't bet the farm on my answer. As I said, I don't have details of his face set in my mind.

Guess I'd be a lousy eye witness! Big Grin

Gerald, I do believe you should be casting this movie (only if you promise to pick me to be Gia!). That man is a mighty fine specimen!
WOW!

I saw Chris Evans in Cellular and you are right very nondescript - good actor, I also think Russell Crowe would do good in the position ~

You don't want a pretty boy handsome that will stop and get stares, but an average joe.

Big Grin This would be the perfect character actor for Repairman Jack - He is able to appear as the average Joe - He is currently the lead is Law and Order Criminal Intent.

You need someone that can capture the intenseness when repairman Jack gets crossed in the wrong way~

One reason I hope there are auditions for the part. It would make me sick if this young, well known actor can't fit the bill. I feel they need to use the right guy for this part. I would voluntire, but I hate my picture taken. What would a two hour movie do to my pyschie? Wink
