I like Maria Bello, too. I will check it out. Thanks Scott.

Years ago my mother used to say to me... "In this world, Elwood, you can be oh so smart or oh so pleasant."
Well, for years I was smart.
I recommend pleasant.

This has been going on for more than ten years. One of FPW's original picks was Viggo Mortensen for Jack, and Jack Weston for Abe, but Viggo is too old for the part now and Jack Weston died in 1996.

Yeah, Maria Bello would make a GREAT Jack, but I still prefer Dakota Fanning.

I do believe Edward Norton is still the man.

I DVR'd it off HBO not too long ago, maybe it's still in their rotation.

My last day of free HBO and I'm ending by recording the fun Tremors.

Now what to do for movies. I'm leaning towards the Total Access from Blockbuster(I know they're the enemy, but I think they've caved and are much more consumer friendly these days) because I dig the option of going to a store due to mood-oriented viewing style.

I'd be interested to see him do it. Not sure if he can do dark and moody, but he looks the part and has charm aplenty.

He was pretty good, a little one dimensional, in The Amityville Horror. He certainly fits the physical description; you can't tell by just looking at him, but the dude is ripped. Plus he is pretty funny. I'd be ok with him cast.

Does nobody else think he looks a little too young, and a little too male-model-good-looks?

He is definitely nothing like how I pictured Repairman Jack when I read the books, and the sort of film that would cast him as the hero would probably turn the entire thing into a Teen-Horror movie.

Need someone a little older, a little quieter, a little plainer. He is described in the books as not being handsome, but not being ugly either. He's an average as you like everyman.

This Ryan Reynolds fella looks more like a movie star.

Sad

I disagree. I think Ryan Reynolds is a fine actor who can look and act as plain as you'd like. He can look grubby, gorgeous, or ordinary.

I love him best in comedies.
