I also liked Traylor Howard who was in Anthony Clark's (Yes, Dear) first series Boston Common. I think Reynolds could make a good Jack, though I haven't seen Blade: Trinity yet.

BTW, it's DAN Hedaya (played Carla's husband Nick on Cheers), Maggers. I think you must need more coffee. Big Grin ....and Dick is a quite funny movie.

LOL! The synapses aren't firing quite right yet. Too early. Need more coffee. Dan and Sam are typos. My brain knew it was Dan but my fingers thought it was Sam. Rolleyes

Yes, I've been a big fan of DAN Hedaya since "Blood Simple."

P.S. I know I'm not functioning at my best today. I can tell by my typing. I've made more typos in this post than I have in a month of Sundays. Actually, that's how I can tell if I'm in top form - if my typing starts to fail, watch out.

Well, for years I was smart.
I recommend pleasant.

Oh yeah!

Welcome JackSavior.

The most merciful thing in the world, I think, is the inability of the human mind to correlate all its contents. ... The piecing together of dissociated knowledge will open up such terrifying vistas of reality, and of our frightful position therein, that we shall either go mad from the revelation or flee from the light into the peace and safety of a new dark age.

Ok maybe he is getting a bit old but -- Tom Cruise (now I realize this can't happen due to the $$$ Tommy gets per film)

But he has it all -- small but in great shape like jack
Knows martial arts like jack
Can come across as a quite type of guy till he gets ready to rumble..

Not kidding I think Tom Cruise would have made a great Jack..

ShadowLord

Just realized -- I could also live with Keanu Reeves as Jack but once agian -- numerous problems with the $$$$$

And just when I was getting ready to compliment you on your taste for your Wilbur Smith recommendation, you go and spoil it with the KR nomination. The numero uno problem with KR is he has the emotional range of a carrot, not the $.

For me, the ultimate proof of Keanu's acting abilities (or lack therof) is the movie "Much Ado About Nothing". When put in the same film as good actors like Kenneth Branagh, Emma Thompson, Denzel Washington, and even Michael Keaton, the poor Keanu Reaves looks like a stick. (And I apologize to all the sticks out there).

P.S. The film also stars Kate Beckinsale in her first feature-film role as Hero. Looking quite young and, may I say, curvaceous.

Couldn't agree more!

Am thinking the suggestion of Matthew Maconachy might just do it... (Having just re-read Crisscross with that in mind...) Maybe....

Matthew is trying to establish Dirk Pitt as the next franchise character.

And as executive producer of Sahara, I doubt seriously Matthew would consider being Jack.

The studio might think that Pitt is to close to Jack and therefore, rule him out

He wasn't bad in Sahara - I just wasn't overwhelmed.....

Colin Farell? There is no better actor to place in a potentially great movie to ruin it.

I can't believe that no one has mentioned Christian Bale. Too bad that he's already doing a dark and edgy guy who operates outside the law...

Welcome to the board, Double-edged.

Well, somebody mentioned Christian Bale. His movie, Equilibrium was cool. But he is too cool, like ice or machine. But he is good actor. Cool
