Very cool, Biggles. My copies of FPW's books range from yellowed and raggedy paperbacks to not-excessively-pawed-over ex-library copies to brand new but not first editions (I don't think) purchased at amazon.com.

But I love 'em anyway!

Are these the only leather bound editions available? Or are there some super-secret-you've-got-to-know-someone editions out there, too?

My first FPW books were all paperbacks, starting with The Keep. The most important thing, of course, is his words. Collecting is fun, though, if you have the time and inclination. I was never a coin or stamp collector. Instead, I collect Duquesne Beer memorabilia and FPW firsts and limiteds.

I suppose that if I had gone to cross-town rival Pitt instead of Duquesne, I might be collecting Ft. Pitt Beer antiques. Duquesne Brewing Company has been out of business for more than 30 years, but I have managed to find many items on eBay. These are just some:

Exactly what I want to know as well! I'm sure that some limiteds will be too dear for me to acquire (or more to the point justify acquiring), but I at least want to be as complete as possible in my collection.

I am a numismatist and prestadigitator but not a bibliophilist...

I have often wondered if M is a lepidopterist.

I have a friend who is a archtophilist.

Anyway, I have all of Paul's books in some form of other and the only collectable versions are the new Borderland's books (I have the first three of the A/C).

The Borderlands lettered editions are leather. The Guantlet lettereds are supposed to be leather but they don't feel like it. And the special super-limited edition of The Touch is part leather. I'll see if I can post a photo or two.

Let me guess. Is a lepidopterist an optometrist who got his/her degree at Notre Dame? Would a lepidopterist who was only lukewarm about his hobby be a tepid lepidopterist? On the other hand, would an upbeat lepidopterist be a lepidopterist optimist?
