Just finished the whole Jack series (still trying to get the last couple Adversary Cycle books) and I was looking at the Young Jack books. I've seen them listed as young adult titles. Not sure how I can ask this nicely, so apologies in advance if this sounds a little rude. I'm wondering how they "feel"? Do they retain the FPW feel just with toned down violence or are they really only going to be of interest to a young reader?

I toned down the language, but didn't change my writing style. The trilogy is fun because you run across all sorts of characters from his future and the Adversary Cycle.

Many thanks for the reply, that's good news. I guess I'll be ordering them in the near future. I quite enjoyed the early Jack (Cold City, etc) books for exactly that reason. Was nice to see the growth and play spot the character.

The YA books are quite enjoyable. There are a ton of cameos, there are some pretty intense scenes as well. They are obviously for a younger audience, but they maintain the FPW style perfectly.

Apparently they've just arrived at my preferred bookstore in Brisbane (yay for Pulp Fiction). So going to be devouring them in the near future.

I just finished the trilogy a few weeks ago, and quite enjoyed them. I am coming back to RJ after an extended absence, and reading everything from the beginning.
