So I finally got around to putting out the 200$ for the last book I needed to complete my repairman jack gauntlet press edition collection with the haunted air. I received it just a few days ago and while it is the first/limited edition, it is not a hardcover. I'm super bummed because its not cheap and I was expecting hc. Has anyone else seen this happen with the gauntlet press editions? Anyone have an extra HC that they will sell at a reasonable price or trade for the soft cover or any of the other stuff I have?

ARC's aren't numbered, are they?

Yes I guess that's what it is. While its cool to have I really would much rather have the hardcover. Maybe someone who collects arcs will bevinterested

Did the sale state if it was hardcover or soft? Have you tried contacting the seller to see if you can return it for a refund?

Said it was hardcover. I will try that but I'm going to end up eating the loss and trying to find another

That's a misrepresentation by whoever sold it to you, and not the fault of Gauntlet.

I was not accusing gauntlet of anything whatsoever.

I think the confusion was with this line:

But, yeah. Sometimes a seller somewhere will list a "regular" copy as a special edition. I think someone here even ordered a "regular" hardback of The Haunted Air and received the Gauntlet edition instead.

But here's a list with a copy for $150 that's not ex-library.

If it was advertised a hardcover and you got an ARC, then you deserve a refund.

THIS! You should not have paid 200 bucks for an advanced reading copy. If the ad said it was hardcover and you were mislead, contact the seller. If the seller does not rectify the issue and you purchased it through eBay, then you can dispute it with them and they will investigate the claim and refund you accordingly if you were indeed misled.
