Is it my imagination or is there not as much traffic on this board as there used to be? What happend to Ken Valentine, Bluesman, et al.?

Then out spoke brave Horatius, the Captain of the Gate: "To every man upon this earth, death cometh soon or late; And how can man die better than facing fearful odds, For the ashes of his fathers, and the temples of his Gods,"
"Well, John Henry said to the Cap'n, "A man ain't nuthin' but a man. But, before I let that steam drill beat me, gonna die with my hammer in my hand, Lawd, Lawd, gonna die with my hammer in my hand."

Ken Valentine passed away.

Mike lost his job at B&N and slowly stopped coming to the board. He makes a brief appearance now and again, but is absent for the most part.

Activity on the board waned when the great divide occurred, it is picking up more lately as new members come on board to discuss the books.

We closed down the political and news threads because of previous events, and as you picked up, certain topics are now verboten. It is just the way things are now.

If you crave political conversation or want to discuss hot topics, the folks over at Planet Tolive will accommodate you. Their site is http://www.planettolive.com

There are a lot of regulars there who used to contribute to this forum. I don't know if they use the same usernames or not, but they are there.

Joe, the hint isn't a subtle one. How many times does Tony have to post a link to Planet Tolive?

I cant speak for Tony, but I think that was more so NYJ knew there was a place where some of the topics he enjoys would be discussed. He's absolutely welcome here. Glad to see him back. We just aren't discussing certain things here because it tends to devolve, and the goal is to maintain a welcoming environment for all.

i seem to recall reading Blues relies on Internet cafes and such, and I think there was also some mention of exploring legal options. He may be maintaining radio silence, least he say something to jeopardize his case. There are a few people on the Kitchen forum I post on in that situation.

Yeah, t4, I grok! Rolleyes I went there a couple times long ago, but I never caught onto it. I'm a creature of habit. Still, thanks Tony, maybe some folks over there are looking for some firearms bargains. I'm sorry about Ken V. I made him a character in one of my stories, "For Thom the Well Boils." He was a rough, opinionated old cob, but he sure knew his firearms! "Ask Not for Whom the Bell Tolls, it tolls for thee."

I am gingerly looking for a Springfield M1A, and a Smith version of the Walther PPK.
