"Gingerly?" Hunan cuisine uses a lot of ginger! I had a Springfield M1A Scout rifle, long-eye-relief scope, black composite stock that I gunshowed years ago. I was not happy with it. I also had an H&K 91 (as well as my SAR-8). They both have a roller-block delayed action that is much more accurate, they are easier to take apart and clean than the M1-A.
I've had Walthers, even Walther .22s. The PPK was a good design back in the 60s, but the Special Branch officers who guard the Royal Family discarded them as their service weapon when one jammed at a critical juncture. Bond carried a 7.65 (.32) PPK. For some reason, Europeans think a .32 is enough to do the job. To me, a .32 is a mouse gun. There a 9-mms the same size now.

"Well, John Henry said to the Cap'n, "A man ain't nuthin' but a man. But, before I let that steam drill beat me, gonna die with my hammer in my hand, Lawd, Lawd, gonna die with my hammer in my hand."
