The Black Hole. That's what I was thinking it was from as well.

Major K

"He guards the sleep of his pauper master as if he were a Prince." George Graham Vest

Well....I enjoyed the newest Star Trek film. Even though I was hoping for a new adventure into the cosmos....I suppose with a reboot into a new time line they had to pay homage to canon. Some neat twists on things though.

I've heard that the cast has signed on for the next film....I hope they make it so. lol

What did you think about the DS9 references?

It was pretty cool that the bad guy was
Q, does that mean that the next movie will be Captain Picard
?

There were so many Trek references....it's tough to remember them all! I need to see it again to pick up all that I missed.

Without spoilers....the best funny line in the movie....McCoy's description of a Gorn c-section! "Those little suckers can bite!"

Gorn, Mudd, Section 31, Klingons, BB....all reused canon that Abrams used instead of just doing something completely new which would have been nice.

And I think its funny that people are talking about Mudd possibly being the next villain...Mudd was never really a "villain" he was more of an annoying merchant. Sure, in I, Mudd he did some bad things to the crew but he didn't do it as a way to destroy the crew/Enterprise or take out his revenge or whatever. Simply, Mudd is not a villain at all.

Maybe it will be Klingons....I really hope so. Some nice epic space battles would be awesome.

I forgot to mention the sound effects! I thought it was neat that alot of the sounds from TOS were used...especially the med equipment.
