Pretty awesome. 3D was unnecessary, but overall a good movie. Really enjoyed it, except for the 30 minute "intermission" when the theater lost power to all its screens. You'd think Fayetteville was a third world country sometimes with the way they lose power around here!

I will be seeing this after I see Taken 2 tomorrow evening. Dredd has to be better than that awful Stallone version.

We saw it in 2D and some of the scenes looked like they needed to be 3D. But we missed the 3D showings. I enjoyed it a lot. I was never a huge fan of the original.

In the comics, which I read as a kid, Dredd never took off his helmet. Stallone had it off fairly quickly so his "audience" wouldn't be deprived of his extraordinary good looks.;-) lol

I could've sworn I saw a Stallone "cameo". At one point they showed the "office judges" (I don't know what they called the ones that worked in the office on the computers) looking at monitors with bad guys. I could've sworn I saw a picture of a young Stallone on the one on the far left. But I could've been mistaken.

It is, there is no comparison.

You should, the reviewers are not wrong.

I've been a 2000AD fan since the 70's, and this film really does the comic strip justice. Urban and Garland between them have captured Dredd to a T.
I really hope it gets the sequel(s). It would be a crying shame if it doesn't.

Is it really a "reboot"? Its more like a remake. Besides I hate the term reboot...its become so damn cliche.

And I was never a comic book kid growing up so I don't know much about the comics/graphic novel, whatever. All I know is that this was a badass movie and very enjoyable.

Karl Urban is a cool guy too. I met him in Kuwait for the Star Trek premiere and he seemed generally happy and proud when I said to him that DeForrest Kelley would have been proud of Urban's performance as Bones.
