I saw this last weekend, and I really enjoyed it. I think it might be equal to, if not slightly better than, the last film for two reasons: I never felt like it was getting long (I did with TDK), and Nolan's direction of action scenes has greatly improved. In BB he used the annoying technique of close up shots and shaky-cam to mimic action, but you could never tell what was actually happening. In TDKR he pulls the camera back a bit and lets the shots breath.

I also felt the story was wrapped up a bit too neatly but that's minor issue. Overall, a solid and entertaining film that wraps up the trilogy nicely.

So....SPOILERS,yeah????

Well...and keep in mind,I am a longtime hard-core Batman fan....I actually kind of hated RISES. I tolerated the first two Nolan Bat-films,and even enjoyed parts of Dark Knight(its hard to make a bad Batman film when you're using The Joker and Two-Face as the villains) but RISES just pissed me all kinds of off. I love Bane, but he was just as wasted in this move as he was BATMAN AND ROBIN. The "Miranda Tate" character was also a missed opportunity...and that ending!!! Could not have been anymore out of character if they tried. Not too mention all the stupid plot holes....magic back-healing rope, forgotten underground hell-hole prisons that have amazingly clear satellite TV reception, the loss of Bruce Waynes fortune, and the fact that the ending was pretty much just a ripofff of Adam West Batman's best scene ever(some days you just cant get rid of a bomb....). Oh and who Joseph Gordon Levitt's character wound up being. I am beyond ready for the reboot of my favorite comic-book character. I dont EVER want to see them go back to the Joel Schumacher days, but I really hope that the next director doesn't make Batman as boring and as dreary as Nolan did. I would love it if we could get a live-action Batman thats more in tone with the animated series or the Arkham games.

Hiyo Goddamn Silver!!!!

People do realize that this wasn't the batman story everyone is familiar with right? This is not the detective batman, not the batman of the justice league. This is the dark knight. He is very much a cynical character. He's not in it simply for the good, he is mainly in it for revenge and redemption. He has almost no hope for the world.

I believe that is why the movie was titled, The Dark Knight. LOL

Yes, but people know The Dark Knight as another name for Batman rather than it is a different story, a different batman, a different Bruce Wayne.

Also, the Dark Knight is not the Batman of the Justice League and they have not set up a good way of doing a Justice League movie yet I hear they are making one. It will fail miserably.
