There's a lot of lies being bandied about about the healthcare reform. We have a similar plan in Massachusetts and it works pretty well. It's allowing my in-laws to be here. Without health insurance, that would not be possible.

This plan will not tax people who have insurance. It's just a nightmare the way things are now. People are dying because they cannot afford to get help that could save them. Why is it a lot of people who have don't give a damn about those who do not have?

Ok...that is a good thing for them, then.

From my understanding...everyone working will be taxed to fund the program.

Yet, ER's donot turn people away. They can't...it's against the law. Just about all the states have programs for free care for those without insurance. Don't say we don't care.....I help arrange services and equipment for Cancer and burn patients....many without insurance. I FIND a way...so don't give that. I network with others at other state's hospitals...we all find a way.

Because alot of us are tired of funding failed programs. Obama can't get it right with other programs...and you expect he'll fix healthcare?

IMO....there has to be a better way...Obama's way just isn't it.

The reason Obama is having trouble is because the Republicans don't ant to allow Obama to do anything that would disrupt their rich friends or rich businesses. They want to continue to get their kickbacks and funding. This country would be better off without them. Well, the tea party kind for sure.

I think the proletariats should just eat shit anddie...... What the heck.
There are more people in the land that have worked theirentire lives who are facing financial crisis because of what inflation has doneto the "retirement fund" they have amassed.

This business of broad stroking the entirety of the American public by saying,"get a job" does not do justice to those who can't or to the millionsworking @ Walmart who aren't able to afford the "health care"package.

You as a doctor, I would think you are the one to emanate the true problemswith the health care system: Thegreatest in the world, but built for profiteering and marketeering principalsthat payout maximum to shareholders as they swindle the public dollar.

Obama care is an attempt to further the blanket upon thescores of needy for whom there is no insurance. Look beyond what health care is doing today for those of us who canafford it. Looking beyond your neighborand beyond his neighbor to see the elderly self medicate via rationing ofpills, because it is all they can afford.
Look beyond the hype of yer dang fox news channel.

This is a very polarizing issue and unfortunately it usually translates to what you think of Obama as a president more than the actual feasibility of the plan itself. I am neither Republican nor Democrat. I didn't think Bush was a good president and I don't think Obama is either. I do know that everyone who resides in America should have access to reasonably priced health care. My sister and her husband own a small business. They have three children. When she told me what they pay a month for health care I nearly upchucked the pasta I was eating at the time. It is quite expensive. And it doesn't even cover all their needs.

I think a plan that looks out for the poorer amongst us is a good thing. Not every one who is on some form of governmental assistance is a leach. I have friends who have worked all their life and when the meltdown of '08 occured they were unceremoniously laid off. And it's been a rough time since then. They get a little work, then are let go. Should they and their families suffer and not go to their doctor/emergency room when they are ill? In a country where the government can pay seventy dollars for a hammer, I think it's safe to say it can pay for, or at least help pay for, health care for it's less fortunate citizens. The higher-end policies are still out there for those who want superior and more costly coverage.
