And how could you not mention Sibs?

I guess i'm not the best to comment, I was reading the 87th Precinct series at 12, which is waaaaay more explicit than most of those (Sibs excluded). Compared to most other authors I've read, there seems to be way less unconnected random sexual stuff, and what is included flows with the story and is usually not lengthy or overly descriptive. I recall a lot of implications that sex had or will happen, but little actual description.

I actually appreciate leaving the details out. I find it less disruptive to the story, but still acknowledges a natural part of what is happening in the book.

A friend mentioned he had read about how parents tend to have a harder time with sex in YA books vs adult books when their kids are reading. Makes sense to me, sex in YA books would be their fictional peers, but sex in adult books is firmly planted in the adult world.

Basically, it's probably a good thing I don't have any kids. I'm sure i'd mess it all up and they'd be traumatized for life.

Yeah, you know, I got my father to read the Dark Tower series a few years ago and he expressed shock that I had read the Susannah rape scene and a few other parts when I was just a teenager. I guess it might have been a little inappropriate, but I didn't even bat an eye at it back then. I didn't even think that maybe I shouldn't be reading this.

And look how great I turned out lol. Wink

The Touch cut out with them kissing after the power went out and left the rest to the imagination. It's nothing like the majority of authors these days it feels like though.

as far as Jack's oDNA it's practically imperceptible. He had it the whole time we just didn't realize it. not to mention it's not like he was the only person with it. As I understand it after the females died off in the first age the Q'Qr's got pretty randy

One of the Jack books deals with siblings in the sex trade with each other when they were kids. It was disturbing...
