Yuengling is more of an amber lager... Not so much a Pilsner. Pilsner is a light straw colored lager with a dry maltiness contrasted by a sharper hop (Usually noble) flavor and aroma.
My recommendation to all is to buy American beers. Craft Brewing in the United States has pushed past the rest of the world. Belgium would be second. But from Lagers to Hefeweizens to Barleywines, the US's beers are better crafted, more adventurous, and probably most important... Fresher. Young German brewers travel to the States to learn better brewing techniques these days.
