Discovered this beer yesterday when I went to Walgreens for my flu shot. I didn't realize till just now that its a Walgreens beer, but its pretty darn good. And cheap too...only problem for me is that I only got a six pack (didn't want to buy more if it was rot-gut beer) and Walgreens is kind of far away from where I live and work. Will have to find one closer to post and pick up some more.

Wow. It's so cheap, it'll probably have a big following. At $.50/beer why not?!?! Of course, I'm making a batch tomorrow of a Smokey Black Ale. I've got $24 into two cases. That's about the same, and I'm sure I'll really enjoy it!!

Turned out less like a smoky black ale and more like an extra hoppy Newcastle.

No on the Bud, Mike. Try a Smithwicks or a Harp for a good brew.

Harp is a fine lager. Smithwicks I didn't know about--I'll ask me bartender.

Both are good beers, though I think I like Smithwicks, pronounced Smithicks, no W sound, a bit better. I think they are both brewed in Canada now though and not Ireland.

There's a friend of our family that owns a package store, they have it imported from Kilkenny, Ireland. On our honeymoon, we visited the abbey brewery. They make a Kilkenny Cream Ale that was quite good there.
