Consider it bought, the price isn't really an issue but I was just saying on another thread that I was going to try the LaNague series so I will start here!

I gather it's a bit outside the LaNague books but set in the same world, so is it a good place to start?

And on the subject of cost from what's been said above books are a good 50% more over here than you seem to be paying! I dont have a kindle, I just settle back in a chair and read them off the monitor. Works fine for me.

Well, I've never seen one do THAT before

And you can have your purchased items in multiple locations as well. I have mine on my PC, a phone and my wife's Kindle.(we use the same account so we can share books).

I resisted the Kindle/eBook revolution for a long time, but now that I have given in and use one, I love it. While not perfect in every way (like not being able to lend out books or send books to other people who you want to share with) I have quickly become a big fan.

I could never find an reasonably priced copy of "Virgin", got a Kindle and bam! $2.99 and I finally got a copy to read.

That where I find the real benefit of the kindle is. Out of print books need not fear death. No way I'm buying a brand new book on kindle. It's just no me, I prefer holding a book. Kindle was a gift and I like it in a limited capacity.

Actually, Amazon has recently started a Kindle book lending program. You can loan a Kindle book you own to someone else with a Kindle for (IIRC) two weeks at a time.

It should be in your Kindle menu somewhere - I forget exactly where now. I'm sure there are details and instructions at Amazon.com.

Holy crap. I hadn't heard about this. I am going to look around right now to learn about the details.

Thanks Webby!

I absolutely LOVED Dydeetown World!

To anyone who hasn't read it yet - don't be a buttonhead! Get the 99 cent copy while the getting is good! You won't regret it.

Yes, they are there for as long as, well, as long as Amazon remains in business I guess. I've archived about 60 books that I've finished. It makes keeping my Kindle index a little neater.

I live in a tiny space, and my husband and I are great readers. We just don't have room for books. Our Kindles have been a godsend.

So, Paul, consider the place of honor you hold in my home. I gave away all my other books when I did a massive purge a while back, but not my FPW books. Even though I have duplicates, I didn't give up a one. Smile

I have used the loan function on my Kindle, too. However, I am always mindful of royalties and what they mean to an author. So whenever I can, if I like the author, I'll buy the book.

I recommend pleasant.

The other LaNague universe books are SFy sf -- Dydee is more noir fiction

Hello Mr Wilson!
I don't have Kindle but you were successful to convince me to read this novel!
So I found on Amazon (Germany) a second hand book of "Dydeetown World".
Now, I have a question please:
Do I have to read first "An enemy of the state" or can I read "Dydeetown" directly?
Thanks in advance,

Ludovic

You don't need to read the other LaNague books first. Smile
