Quote:It was the worst special effect for a decade until the Cloverfield monster. That movie was such a disapointment, for me. I had no clue about the film, going in. I'd just heard the buz about it. It wasn't even worth the time to watch it. Not only was I not interested, but it looked horible, and there were so many holes.

I'm always the person in the car saying, don't stop here, i've seen that movie and it doesn't end well!I always wonder why these people aren't armed. They tend to lose much of their zip, for me, since I don't feel like a more prepared person would be victimized so easilly.

I like movies where people are forced to survive in the woods. If they are being tracked, it's even more interesting. Not everyone lives in a place where they can freely travel with firearms, or with them assembled and loaded. Plus if you are crossing state lines there's a whole other hosts of things to consider. I have 8 handguns on my permit at the moment, but I do not travel with them routinely even though I have this fear. And I was thinking the other day how stories seem to always center on the one in a million times something goes wrong. Then it dawned on me - the other times things go right it isn't a story. Same with these movies. I think if the victim looked armed and able to defend against an attack, the attacker would probably seek another victim. And the movies where the armed, strong, prepared guy is attacked anyway, those are the scariest.
