Anyone else excited about this movie? I have to admit, I am not the biggest JJ Abrams fan but the previews for this movie have me all atwitter. Hope the actual movie holds up.

I am torn over this one. I can't tell what it is trying to be. Is it going to be scary aliens or bad ones? Is it a family movie or a horror/monster movie...too convuluted right now. But the marketing is ace!

I remember seeing a trailer for this one. It looks pretty good. I'll go see it when it comes out.

I like JJ and this looks like the best movie of the summer.

However.

I don't like that they're keeping whatever the monster is under wraps. If it looks anything like that nerdy thing from Cloverfield I'm getting me a fucking refund.

And cc, I liked Cloverfield and thought the monster was pretty cool LOL

Wow. You guys are fucking morons. ( I risk the first step of banishment to point this out) It was the single worse CGI effect in the history of cinema. Fuck Sigmund and the Seamonsters, the doggy looking thing from the Banana Splits was more menacing than Cloverfield. Jar Jar Fucking Binks was scarier than Cloverfield. Zoe Salada's bare blue breast in Avatar was scarier than Cloverfield. Give. It. Up.

I hated Cloverfield but it had more to do with the over done shakey home video style than anything else. I had an ear problem when I saw it and it made me motion sick because it was so overdone.

I love the idea of a monster smashing cities and giant monster movies as a genre have always been some of my favorites but Cloverfield just disappointed me.
