Wishbone Wrote:Well since you are open to a suggestions, I am going to recommend Louis L'Amour Sackett Series. Start with Sackett's Land: The Sacketts. While the western genre is a 180 from scifi/horror, you'll find characters with no official identity and a strong sense of honor who often find that they have to break the law to do what is right.
I only suggested the Sacketts because you seemed to be looking for a series. He also has 6 or 7 volumes of short stories and about 50 or 60 novels. My personal favorite character is Chick Bowdrie who appears in Bowdrie and Bowdrie's Law. He is a Texas Ranger who has an outlaw past. He was recruited by the Rangers because the didn't want to fight him.
Delve into L'Amour and let me know what you think.
Best.
I've been here a while and I'll tell you this... L'Amour is a tough sell around here. (Unless you're talking to me
) Finally... FINALLY... someone's in my corner!!!!
Welcome to the board!
Needless to say, I approve of the the Sackett saga. (It extends from pirates to woolly mammoths, to hidden gold, too Logan Sackett that is perhaps the best outlaw in existence.)
